1. AHA Healthcare Provider courses
BLS for the Healthcare Provider The Healthcare provider
course is designed for those who provide health care in a variety of
settings, including in-hospital & out-of-hospital. It teaches
the skills of CPR for all ages (including ventilation with a barrier
device, a bag-valve mask & oxygen), the use of the AED, &
relief of foreign-body-airway obstruction.
Course length is
6.5 to 8 hours for an Original course and 4 hours for a Refresher
course.
2. AHA Heartsaver CPR
courses Lay rescuers learn how to recognize & treat
life-threatening emergencies, including cardiac arrest &
choking. Participants also learn to recognize the warning signs of
heart attack & stroke in adults & breathing difficulties in
children.
Choice of three different courses:
Heartsaver CPR for Adults: CPR & relief of
foreign-body-airway obstruction for the adult. Course length is 3
hours.
Heartsaver CPR for Infants & Children:
Teaches CPR & relief of foreign-body-airway obstruction
for infants (birth to 1 year) & children (1 to 8 years). Course
length is 3 hours.
Heartsaver CPR for all Ages:
Teaches CPR & relief of foreign-body-airway obstruction in
the adult, the infant, and the child. Course length is 5.5 to 6
hours.
3. AHA Heartsaver AED The
Heartsaver AED course teaches the basic techniques of adult CPR
& the use of the Automated External Defibrillator. Learn about
the use of barrier devices in CPR & how to give first aid for
choking. The course teaches how to recognize the signs of heart
attack, stroke, cardiac arrest, & foreign-body-airway
obstruction. Course length is 4 hours.
There is also an AHA
CPR Instructor Course. A Pediatric modula can be included adding 2
hours to the course length.
4. AHA Heartsaver First Aid The
Heartsaver First Aid Course provides training in basic first aid
procedures, with the opportunity for training in adult CPR and the
use of automated external defibrillators (AEDs). The course is for
people assigned as first responders to emergencies in the workplace
or community. This includes corporate employees, security personnel,
airline personnel, and other individuals who want or require first
aid training. A pocket mask is required.
Course Content: (4
hrs) General principles, Medical emergencies & Injury
emergencies.
Elective Modules: (2 hrs) CPR, AED, &
Environmental emergencies.
